Since Dave and I can't gorge any food since we are losing weight. I have been surfing the internet admiring food, to supress the emotional void I am experiencing. Kind of like when my dad would make me fast as a child and I would get hungry, and he would tell me to drink a glass of water and pretend it was pizza. Anyway, here is what I ran across today.

15 Pound Cheeseburger

CLEARFIELD, Pa. (AP) - The burger war is growing. Literally. Denny's Beer Barrel Pub, which lost its crown as the home of the world's biggest burger earlier this year, is now offering a new burger that weighs a whopping 15 pounds.

Dubbed the Beer Barrel Belly Buster, the burger comes with 10.5 pounds of ground beef, 25 slices of cheese, a head of lettuce, three tomatoes, two onions, a cup-and-a-half each of mayonnaise, relish, ketchup, mustard and banana peppers - and a bun.

It costs $30.

"It can feed a family of 10," said Denny Liegey Sr., the restaurant's owner.

Denny's Beer Barrel Pub had offered a 6-pound burger - with 5 pounds of toppings.

In February, a 100-pound female college student became the first to eat the burger within the three-hour time limit. Kate Stelnick, of Princeton, N.J., was awarded a special certificate, a T-shirt and other prizes and Leigey picked up the $23.95 tab for the burger.

One month later, the Clinton Station Diner in Clinton, N.J., introduced a 12.5-pound burger dubbed Zeus.

So Liegey responded, and the Belly Buster was born.

Over the weekend, four men took the challenge, but couldn't get through the entire burger. They opted for doggie bags, instead.

"It's a little too much for me to handle," said Steve Hepburn, of Clearfield. "It's like trying to eat half a cow."

Well, this is Casey and I am joining the fight. So with your help, Dave and I are both going to be skinnier this time next year. I saw a lot of cream cheese in the fridge, but I love Dave more than cream cheese, so I said, "No" to the cream cheese. It is funny how little self control I have and how many decisions I actually make without even thinking about them. All this thinking about food also made me think about the rain that we had today here in New Orleans. I am currently reading Grapes of Wrath and it is a dry and dusty climate, people's lives ruined in part because of a lack of rain. When is the last time I prayed for rain. I mean, if we didn't have rain, we wouldn't have crops to sustain life. Today when it rained, I didn't get mad when I got wet, I just considered how God makes provision for us. It reminded me that God is in control.

HERE IS THE FUNDRAISER OF THE YEAR...

"PLEDGE BY THE POUND"

Here are the rules.  I will weigh myself today.  I must eat 3 meals a day...no unspiritual fasting.  I can fast at least once a week for Dad, but only if He calls me to it.  People can pledge a flat amount or they can pledge by the pound...That is the name,"Pledge by the pound."  Maybe we can get a bunch of people that want to lose weight to get together and do this.  We have until Christmas Eve of 2005 to lose as mush weight as we can.  Starting right now.  Someone offered me $2 a pound to start, so I am going to start with that.  Watch out baby!  Our goal is to raise $250,000 dollars.  That is how much I need to pay off my school loans, pay for Grad school, and build a new building for school.
